What is skin peeling?

An (I peel) is a blend of natural fruit ingredients (enzymes), AHAs (alpha hydroxy acids) & BHAs (Beta hydroxy acids) that aid with exfoliation.

Facial peeling works by breaking down excess dead skin and oils. It does this by dissolving away epidermal keratin bonds on the top layers of the skin. This is a function your body undergoes naturally every day and is called desquamation.

By skin peeling through this form of exfoliation you are speeding up this naturally occurring cellular turnover process, leading to benefits such as fresher, glowing, clear & even skin. These procedures are used to treat skin problems such as fine lines, acne, scaring, hyper-pigmentation and sun damage. Down time can be expected with more deeper acting peels resulting in the skin flaking for 5 to 10 days in some cases.

Types of Light therapy 

The spectrum of light within sunlight is composed of light particles with different wavelengths. Each has their own benefits relating to the depth they can penetrate into and beyond the skins layers. This depth of penetration is directly related to the light wavelength (units of nanometers - nm).  Red light has wavelengths in the mid-600nm and NIR in the mid-800nm. The longer the wavelength the greater the depth of penetration.

Red Light

Red light was first studied by NASA and noted, as above, for pain reduction. Since then, red light has been adopted worldwide as a safe and natural skin treatment. Benefits are related to increased production and delivery of elastin and collagen which help to reduce/prevent wrinkles and help improve skin tone (reduce sagging). This is a great add on for skin pre-juvenation and rejuvenation. Why not slow down development of the tell tale signs of ageing?

Near Infrared Light (NIR)

Near-infrared light therapy is similar to red light therapy but unlike red light that we can see, NIR is invisible to the human eye. NIR has a key characteristic in that its penetration level goes well below the skin surface - in fact it reaches into muscles and even down to the bone.
